Limitations

Monitor: Limitations of a monitor comes down to the quality of the monitor itself. Older styled monitors will not have as good quality and will most likely be smaller in size, this means that what you see on the screen will not be to the best of quality and when you print it out it may not look the same as it did on the screen. Obviously the picture wont be different but for example colours may come out in different shades as to what they previously looked liked. Also old style will not be able to access higher resolutions such as 1920x1080. Lastly the size of the monitor can be classed a limitation as if you’re working on a smaller monitor and you’re trying to work with an A3 sheet on publisher you won't be able to see all of the tools etc.

Digital Camera: Limitations of a digital camera comes down to how much you are willing to pay as the cheaper the camera is the lower the megapixel size is which means lower quality. Cameras often come with very little space to store images so you’ll have to pay once again more money to buy a SD card. Another limitation of a digital camera is the speed of cameras, most cameras are slow and have a 1-2 second delay before the picture is taken. Lastly cameras can be easily broken with the slightest drop or touch of water (obviously doesn’t apply for waterproof cameras).

Scanner: The first limitation of a scanner is the output quality can vary depending on the type of scanner you’ve got. In other words if you have a lower quality scanner with a lower quality lens the output quality won’t be up to standard. Another limitation of a scanner is that scanner maintenance can be expensive. For example they will have to change the lamp on a regular bases and keep maintenance on the on the camera and lens itself. Lastly scanners can be relatively slow and the only way to speed them up is to once again pay more money for a automatic feeder, however these can occur more problems such as crashes and bad feedback.

Printer: Some limitations of a printer come down to the printer itself, for example certain printers are limited to their printer size, this is because some printers only print A4 where as you may need A3. Another limitation is sometimes printers can not come out as they seem on the screen depending on the size and they can also add unwanted lines across the page.  

Software: Limitations of the software such as Photoshop and illustrator are the price and time. For example Photoshop is a £500 software and it is very time consuming in terms of learning how to use the tools and this is the same for illustrator.
