People learn in different ways and styles. Not everybody can learn or revise for a topic in the same fashion. In 2001 a model of learning style was addressed as VAK - Visual Auditory Kinaesthetic. This address' a persons preferred learning style in which they learn faster and more efficiently. As the title address' there are three main types of learning. Visual. Auditory. Kinaesthetic. You can learn what your preferred learning style is by completing the questionnaire. This is important because the system is built so that people can understand how their brain works.
Visual
Visual learners are people that learn by simply observing. Visual learners will often use pictures and images to learn and they can easily create mental images in their head to retain information. A visual learner will enjoy looking at maps, charts, videos etc. A visual learner will often show their skill when confronted with puzzle building, reading/writing and understanding charts and graphs. Visual learning is very popular today because of all of our new technology to watch videos and it is a good way for the teacher to communicate with the student for example writing questions on a whiteboard or drawing diagrams.
Auditory
Auditory learners will learn through listening. Auditory learners will often have very developed auditory skills this means they will most likely be good at speaking and presenting (and kind of communication). Unlike visual learners auditory will think through words rather than pictures. An auditory learner will best learn through lectures and discussions. A auditory learner will show their skills when having to speak whether it be through storytelling, using humor, explaining and so on. Auditory learners often make for good teachers.
Kinaesthetic
Kinaesthetic learners will learn through practical work such as doing and touching. A kinaesthetic learner will express themselves through movement and demonstrations much like a auditory learner would through words. Kinaesthetic learners are often known to have a good hand-eye coordination. A kinaesthetic learner will be able to remember and process information by interacting with the environment, however they will find it hard to sit still around idle; they will get distracted by their need for activity. A kinaesthetic learner will show their skill through physical coordination and athletic ability.
